In this unusual DIY fabric manipulation tutorial we combine two techniques to bleach / distress jeans. In this thrift flip tutorial we use unknown fabric manipulation ideas on jeans. Refashion an old jeans into a cool bleach striped and distressed jeans at home.
In this denim jeans upcycling project we use a stitch and bleach technique to create a striped pattern on jeans. First do a test to see how the bleach reacts, than sew in irregular pleats with the sewing machine. Than use a spray bottle to apply multiple layers of bleach and continue till satisfied. Than I used fabric etch acid to distress jeans. The cotton denim fabric that is treated with the ausbrenner acid reacts under the iron. Best to do a patch test on a little piece first to see the reaction, this might burn pretty big holes in your jeans! Luckily my jeans had unexpectedly a polyester thread running through, so the distressed effect was more subtle and the holes where nicely kept together by the polyester thread. Than rinse and rub to dissolve the burned fibers in water and throw in the washing machine. After you can seamrip the threads out or just rip them open to reveal your bleached patterns.
