Looking for ways how to make new fabric from scraps, or just new fabric scraps upcycling ideas. This technique allows to create fabric from scratch without weaving or knitting but using old fabric scraps. Start recycling those scraps to create a stunning contemporary decostructed outfit or art project. Today we combine beginner friendly fabric manipulation techniques with some hand embroidery to create a stunning avant apocalypse style. In this zero waste thrift flip we use fabric scraps and threads that were left over from the Dion Lee jeans project. I use embroidery stabilizer and tissue paper to sandwich the scraps together, than stitch horizontal and vertical lines with the sewing machine and rip out the paper, carefully. I add some vintage buttons, beads, chains to glam it up and tada, there is my zero waste diy fashion look. this avant apocalyptic thrift flip is great for the warmer days, where you want to flaunt some skin and look like you just survived an apocalyptic storm.
